El Greco restaurant seems to be one of the last "tried and true" places around. The menu at El Greco speaks for itself  the restaurant specializes in both home-cooked American classics and specialty foods from around the world. In an area where family food stops are prevalent and similar in style, El Greco stands out as a superior establishment with quality food.

El Greco¹s extensive menu offers numerous choices, including breakfast specials (around 14 of them), lunch, appetizers, dinner, dessert and a full bar. Top all of this off with a clean eatery and a warm atmosphere, which is something very rare to find these days.  Owner Gus Gliatis says he is very proud of this aspect of his establishment.

Gliatis points out that his restaurant offers only the highest quality of food, such as fresh meats (all hamburger is ground at the restaurant), fresh fish, and bakery items baked daily.

"You can't look at the short term," Gliatis said. "You always have to look at quality." Gliatis noted that the preparation of his menu items are unique, such as breakfasts being all pan-cooked (better quality) instead of grilled, and pasta dishes are upscale restaurant quality but at a reasonable price. Also, all portions are quite generous.

"Most people leave with a box," Gliatis quips.  Gliatis describes his establishment as having the best food and atmosphere on the northside, pointing out that it is the largest family restaurant in the area.

Gliatis also stresses consistency in regard to food and service. His wife and two sons work with him at the restaurant, and Gliatis feels having his whole family working with him helps keep consistency in running a family restaurant.

With about 60-70 other employees, Gliatis and his family go the extra step to accommodate everybody. El Greco is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
